About this bottle
A standout selection from our curated collection, the Aberlour A’bunadh is a shining example of traditional Scottish craftsmanship in single malt scotch whiskey. This exquisite spirit hails directly from the heart of Speyside, a region renowned worldwide for producing some of the most revered and complex whiskies. Aberlour, with its rich heritage and commitment to quality, presents the A’bunadh as an homage to the original ways of whisky making, unaltered by time or modern techniques.
Presented in a 750mL bottle, the Aberlour A’bunadh is a cask strength whisky, offering a deep and robust flavor profile that is both undiluted and unfiltered. This method ensures the preservation of its natural essence and potency, distinguishing it from its contemporaries. Each batch of A’bunadh is unique, drawn from single casks and bottled at natural cask strength to provide a distinct experience with every bottle. The name ‘A’bunadh’, which translates to “the origin” in Gaelic, pays tribute to Aberlour’s founder, James Fleming, and his vision of crafting the most exceptional and authentic Scotch.
On the palate, the A’bunadh delivers a rich symphony of flavors, characterized by its lush and full-bodied profile. Notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and spices lead to a complex and lingering finish, with a warm and spicy kick that is pleasantly surprising. This exceptional scotch is perfect for those who appreciate the depth and fullness of a high-quality, cask-strength whisky. Whether you’re looking to expand your own collection, gift a bottle to a connoisseur, or simply enjoy a glass of fine Scotch, the Aberlour A’bunadh promises an unforgettable experience that embodies the spirit of Scotland’s whisky tradition. Its deep, sherried flavors make it not only a wonderful digestif but also an impressive gift, especially when enhanced with our personalized bottle engraving service or presented in a wine gift box for that extra touch of elegance.

The Long Island Wine & Spirit Merchant TeamTasting notes
Nose
Raisins and dried figs first, then dark chocolate and a prickle of clove and cinnamon. A little water opens up malt and orange peel.
Palate
Full and oily at cask strength, hot but not harsh. Sherry sweetness up front, raisins and dates, then bitter dark chocolate and a building spice that coats the tongue.
Finish
Long and warming. Dark chocolate and dried fruit fade slowly, with clove and pepper lingering at the back of the throat.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Neat in a copita or tumbler, at room temperature. This is cask strength, so add water a few drops at a time to open the sherry and tame the heat. Let it rest five minutes after pouring. A splash of water is not cheating here, it is the point.
