Nose
Raisins and dried figs first, then orange peel and a dusting of cinnamon and clove. Dark chocolate sits underneath, with a faint sherry nuttiness.
Palate
Full and coating, almost syrupy. Sweet raisin and date up front, baking spice in the middle, then dark chocolate and bitter orange peel. Oak tannin keeps the sweetness in check.
Finish
Long and gently sweet, with oak and lingering orange chocolate. A warm spice tingle stays behind.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Neat at room temperature in a tulip glass, and give it a few minutes to open. A splash of water at 46% softens the oak and pulls out more fruit. Sip slowly, since the thick texture and sherry sweetness build with each glass.
