Nose
Ripe plum and dark cherry come up first, soft and forward, with a light mocha note underneath and a faint earthy turn at the edge.
Palate
Medium bodied and round, gentle tannins barely grip. Plum and cherry lead, a mocha hint in the middle, then a smooth, easygoing wash with modest acidity keeping it from going flat.
Finish
Short and clean, fading on soft cherry and a whisper of cocoa. Nothing tannic or sharp lingers.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve it a touch below room temperature, around 60 to 65 degrees, in a wide bowl so the plum and mocha open up. No decant needed for this one. If it feels flat, a quick swirl in the glass does more than waiting. Keep the bottle corked and cool once opened, and drink within a few days.
