Nose
Cassis and blackberry lead, with a cedar and toast edge from the oak. A little graphite and dried herb sits underneath. Give it air and it opens.
Palate
Full body, firm tannins that grip from the start. Dark fruit and cassis come first, then oak spice and a touch of mocha. Acidity keeps it lifted, not heavy.
Finish
Long and persistent, with cassis and cedar lingering. Tannins stay firm to the end. Decanting softens the grip.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve at cellar temperature, around 60 to 65 degrees, in a wide Bordeaux glass. Decant for an hour or two to tame the tannins and open the nose. If you pull the cork young, give it extra time in the decanter. A slow pour into the glass helps too.
