Palate
Full bodied and velvety, with softened tannins. Dark fruit at the core, cedar and tobacco in the middle, a savory leather note underneath. Acidity still holds it upright.
Finish
Long and savory, fading with leather and dried herbs. The fruit lingers quietly behind.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve at about 62 to 65 degrees, in a wide Bordeaux glass. Decant 30 to 45 minutes to wake up the cedar and graphite notes. A slow pour off the sediment is worth the trouble. If you open it and it feels tight, give it another 15 minutes in the glass before judging.
