Ripe blackberry and dark cherry lead, with a swirl of cedar and a faint cocoa dust note underneath. Opens with air.
Palate
Fuller body, rounded tannins that stay supple, not chewy. Blackberry and dark cherry come first, then cedar and cocoa through the middle, finishing firm and dry with a clean grip.
Finish
Dry and firm, with dark fruit lingering and a light cedar echo. Medium to long, not heavy.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve at about 60 to 65 degrees, slightly below room temperature. A wide bowl Cabernet glass gives the nose room to open. If you have time, decant 30 minutes to soften the tannins and bring out the cocoa. Otherwise, pour and let it sit in the glass a few minutes.
