The story

The story behind Tierra Y Poder

Tierra Y Poder is a tequila label built on the plainest fact in the category: good tequila starts with blue Weber agave and a real cooking method. The expressions we carry are 100 percent agave, the reposado rested in oak and the anejo held longer, which is where the color, the vanilla and the softer edge come from. We do not have verified production details for this house, so we will not invent them. What we can tell you is what is in the bottle and how it drinks.

We have poured agave spirits on this stretch of Jericho Turnpike for over thirty years, and the honest test has not changed. Does the agave still speak after the barrel is done with it? Tierra Y Poder passes that test. The reposado keeps its pepper and cooked agave under the oak, and the anejo leans toward dried fruit and caramel without going sweet.

Buying guidance

Which Tierra Y Poder is right for you?

Tierra Y Poder sits in the middle of what we charge for 100 percent agave tequila, and the pricing is straightforward. The Reposado is $79.99 for a 750mL, the Anejo $99.99, and the Blanco $69.99 when we have it. That is a fair jump from blanco to anejo, since the extra barrel time is real cost. If you are new to the brand, start with the reposado at $79.99 and decide whether the anejo is worth the extra twenty.

Tierra Y Poder cocktails and pairings

Serve the reposado neat or over one cube, and keep the anejo for after dinner. These work with the food, not against it.

Good to know

Tierra Y Poder questions, answered

Is Tierra Y Poder tequila 100 percent agave?
Yes, the expressions we stock are 100 percent blue Weber agave tequila, not a mixto. That means no added cane sugar in the ferment, which is why the agave flavor stays clear from the first sip to the finish.
What is the difference between the Reposado and the Anejo?
Reposado rests in oak for a shorter time, so it keeps more pepper and cooked agave. Anejo spends longer in the barrel, which brings caramel, vanilla and dried fruit forward and softens the edges. Same agave, different patience.
Do you ship Tierra Y Poder tequila?
We ship spirits to the states where it is legal, confirmed at checkout. Tequila is available for free curbside pickup in Commack and local delivery, same-day or next-day, across Nassau and Suffolk. Delivery is free on orders over $250, and you must be 21 or older.
How should I drink the anejo?
Neat in a small glass, at room temperature, with a little time to open up. A single cube is fine if you like it cooler. Save the mixing for the reposado, which has the backbone to stand up in a margarita.
Is the Blanco in stock?
The Blanco is currently out of stock at the store. Ask us and we will try to bring it in on a future order. In the meantime the Reposado and Anejo are both on the shelf and ready for pickup or delivery.
