The story

The story behind Milagro

Milagro started in 1997, the work of two college friends, Daniel Schneeweiss and Moises Guindi, who built the brand in the Highlands of Jalisco. William Grant & Sons bought it in 2006. The agave is 100% blue Weber, grown in mineral rich highland soil and slow roasted in brick ovens for 36 hours. Fermentation runs a long 72 hours in stainless steel.

What separates Milagro is the still. It runs through a pot still first for fresh agave flavor, then a column still for smoothness, a two step approach most mass market brands skip. Aging happens in a mix of American and French oak. We have poured these bottles across this counter for years, and the highland character still reads clean in the glass.

Good to know

Milagro questions, answered

Is Milagro tequila 100% agave?
Yes, Milagro is made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the Highlands of Jalisco. There are no added sugars or grain spirits in the mash, which is why the cooked agave flavor reads so clearly.
Who owns Milagro tequila?
William Grant & Sons has owned Milagro since 2006. The brand was founded in 1997 by Daniel Schneeweiss and Moises Guindi, two college friends who built it in the Jalisco Highlands before the acquisition.
Is Milagro tequila good for sipping?
Yes, especially the Reposado and Anejo. The oak aging softens the spirit and adds vanilla and caramel notes. Pour the Select Barrel Anejo neat in a small glass and let it open for a few minutes.
What is the difference between Milagro Silver and Reposado?
Silver is unaged, so it tastes bright and peppery with fresh agave. Reposado rests in American and French oak barrels, which rounds it out with vanilla and light spice. Use Silver for margaritas, Reposado for sipping.
