La Patareina Chardonnay
Piedmont Chardonnay, poured in Commack for thirty years.
The story behind La Patareina
La Patareina farms Chardonnay in Piedmont, Italy, on estate ground the family calls Tera Sobia, a mix of earth and sand that drains fast and feeds white grapes well. The vineyards sit in Castel Boglione and Nizza Monferrato, inside the UNESCO Langhe-Roero and Monferrato landscape. It is a family operation run on a plain idea: the land, the vineyard, the wine.
The Chardonnay comes in two directions. One is young and stainless steel, floral with banana and tropical fruit, velvety and persistent. The other sees oak and gains structure. Same grape, two very different glasses.
