The Long Island Wine & Spirit Merchant TeamTasting notes
Nose
Pale gold and quiet at first, then green apple skin, lemon peel, a whisper of chamomile and something like crushed coriander seed. Clean, lifted, faintly floral.
Palate
Light bodied, almost watery in the best way, with bright acidity carrying white grape, bitter orange pith, and a soft herbal bitterness that spreads across the tongue. Barely sweet, then drying.
Finish
Clean and brisk, medium short, ending on citrus oil and a lingering wormwood-like bitter tug.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Keep it in the fridge, it wants to be cold, around 40 degrees. Serve neat in a small copita or over one big cube for an aperitif. For a martini, measure it straight from the cold bottle and stir longer than you think. Once opened, it holds a few weeks chilled; write the date on the label.
