Nose
Ripe red cherry and dark plum lead, with a dried fig note tucked behind and a soft drift of vanilla and cedar from the oak.
Palate
Medium to full in the mouth, smooth and generous. Cherry and plum come first, fig and a warm oak spice follow, tannins gentle and rounded, acidity fresh enough to keep it lively.
Finish
Lingers at a moderate length, leaving soft cherry and a faint toasty oak note that fades cleanly.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve it a touch below room temperature, around 60 to 65 degrees, in a standard red wine glass with a wide bowl. Pour it and give it fifteen or twenty minutes of air, which softens the oak and pulls the fruit forward. No decanter needed, just let it breathe in the glass.
