Nose
Toffee and dark caramel first, then toasted oak and a dusting of clove and cinnamon. Dried cherries and a hint of cocoa sit underneath.
Palate
Full and rounded, almost syrupy, with caramel sweetness up front. Dark chocolate and toasted oak take over mid-palate, backed by baking spice and a touch of dried fruit. Warm and mouth-coating.
Finish
Long and warm, with oak and dark chocolate lingering. A soft, sweet spice tail that fades slowly.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Neat in a glencairn or a small tumbler, at room temperature. This one is oak-forward enough that a few drops of water open the caramel and tame the wood. Sip it slowly, it drinks bigger than standard Woodford, so pour less than you think you need.
