The story

The story behind Zardetto

Zardetto grows Glera in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, the heartland of Prosecco. The family's grape roots run to 1917 under forefather Bepi Zardetto, and Pino Zardetto formally founded the winery in 1969. In 1984, Pino and winemaker Fabio Zardetto were among the first to export Prosecco to the United States, which is a large part of why Americans know the grape at all.

Fermentation happens the Italian way, in pressurized stainless steel autoclaves over roughly 40 days, so the fruit stays bright and the perlage stays lively. Zardetto was also the first producer in its subzone to run automated quality control sorting at harvest. We have poured these bottles across this counter for decades, and the consistency is the reason they stay.

Serve Zardetto cold, 40 to 45 degrees, in a white wine glass rather than a flute so the aromas open.
Good to know

Zardetto questions, answered

Is Zardetto Prosecco sweet or dry?
It depends on the bottling. The Extra Dry sits off dry with green apple and white flower, while the Brut and Organic finish drier and crisper. If you want the least sweetness, start with the Brut.
Where is Zardetto Prosecco made?
Zardetto is made in Italy's Veneto region, in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. The wine is Glera led and fermented in stainless steel autoclaves, the Charmat method, which keeps the fruit fresh.
What is the difference between Prosecco and Champagne?
Prosecco is Italian, made mostly from Glera, and fermented in pressurized steel tanks for a fresh, fruit forward style. Champagne is French, made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, and aged in the bottle on its lees.
Do you deliver Zardetto Prosecco on Long Island?
Yes. We offer same-day or next-day delivery across Nassau and Suffolk, free local delivery over $250, and free curbside pickup at our Commack store. Order online and we will confirm the timing with you.
What food goes with Zardetto Prosecco?
Prosecco works best as an aperitivo. Pour it with charcuterie, prosciutto, cured meats, light seafood, garden salads and mild creamy cheeses. It also builds a proper Aperol Spritz, Mimosa or Peach Bellini.
