Sea Ridge is California fruit, plain and simple, bottled by Bronco Wine Company, the Franzia family operation out of Ceres that has spent decades turning Central Valley grapes into wine people actually drink on a weeknight. The label carries a broad California AVA designation rather than a single vineyard, and that is the point: consistency over terroir, affordability over estate aging.
We have poured Sea Ridge at this counter for years, and it has never pretended to be Ridge Vineyards or the old Sonoma Sea Ridge Winery. It is a medium to full bodied Cabernet with berry, cedar, soft tannins and a whisper of vanilla, sitting around 12.5% ABV. You buy it because it behaves the same every time.
