The story

The story behind San Marco

San Marco Pinot Grigio comes out of the delle Venezie zone in northeast Italy, the Veneto belt that turned Pinot Grigio into the country's most exported white. The grapes are 100% Pinot Grigio, gently pressed and kept off the skins, then fermented and rested only in temperature controlled stainless steel. No oak, no lees stirring, no fuss. What you get is a light to medium bodied dry white, usually 11.5% to 12% ABV, with green apple and soft acidity.

It is a private label value brand, and public records do not pin down a founder or founding year, so we will not invent one. What we can tell you is what thirty years behind this counter teaches: this is the bottle that shows up, chilled, at the right price, and does its job without argument.

Good to know

San Marco questions, answered

Is San Marco Pinot Grigio a sweet or dry wine?
It is a dry white wine. You get light fruit notes like green apple with very minimal residual sugar, so the finish stays soft and dry rather than sweet.
Where is San Marco Pinot Grigio made?
It is made in northern Italy within the delle Venezie zone, the Veneto area known for crisp, light bodied Pinot Grigio. The grapes are 100% Pinot Grigio, fermented in stainless steel.
Does San Marco Pinot Grigio contain sulfites?
Yes, it contains sulfites. Almost all commercially distributed, shelf stable imported wines use sulfites to preserve freshness and prevent oxidation, and this bottle is no exception.
What is the average price of a 1.5L bottle of San Marco Pinot Grigio?
At our Commack store the 1.5L bottle is $9.99, and the 750mL is $6.99. Nationally the large format generally lands between $8.99 and $12.99, firmly value tier.
Do you deliver San Marco Pinot Grigio locally?
Yes. We offer same day or next day delivery across Nassau and Suffolk, free local delivery over $250, and free curbside pickup at our Commack store on Jericho Turnpike.
