The story

The story behind Pinnacle

Pinnacle launched in 2002 out of White Rock Distillery in Lewiston, Maine, under Paul Coulombe, with the base distillate coming from the Cognac region of Northern France. Beam Inc. bought the brand in 2012 for roughly $600 million, and it now sits with Suntory Global Spirits. The unflavored spirit is distilled from 100% French winter wheat grown in the Brie region, run through five continuous columns, purified at 190 proof, charcoal filtered, then cut with spring water in Frankfort, Kentucky.

We have poured Pinnacle at this counter for two decades because it does a plain job well and a flavored job honestly. In 2013 the flagship took the Vodka Trophy and the only Gold Outstanding at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, ahead of more than 100 vodkas. No oak, no age, no theater. Just clean wheat spirit at 80 proof.
