Montezuma Tequila
Jalisco mixto since 1974. Built for margaritas, priced for the party.
The story behind Montezuma
Montezuma arrived in 1974, brought to the US market by Barton Brands, and it has been a back-bar workhorse ever since. It is a mixto tequila from Jalisco, distilled from at least 51 percent blue Weber agave with cane sugar filling out the rest, double distilled in stainless steel and pulled through roller mills. The distillery carries NOM 1142.
We have poured and sold this label for decades, and we will tell you plainly what it is: a high-volume house pour, not a sipper. The Blanco is unaged and sharp. The Gold rests under two months in oak for a little color and softness. Both sit at 80 proof and stay in the budget tier, which is exactly why they move.

Two expressions, both 80 proof, both built for mixing. The Blanco stays clear and unaged; the Gold gets a short oak rest for color and a softer edge.

Which Montezuma is right for you?
Montezuma sits in the value tier, and the shelf tags show it. The Blanco and Gold Tequila both run $11.99 in the 1 liter, and $17.99 in the 1.75 liter, so the big bottle is the smarter buy for a crowd. The Triple Sec 1 liter is $5.99. Nothing here is priced like a sipping tequila, and nothing here pretends to be. Buy Montezuma online or grab it off the shelf in Commack.
Big bottle, light oak softness, enough volume for a pitcher without wincing.
Clear, sharp and cheap, ideal for high-volume mixed drinks behind the bar.
The orange liqueur half of the margarita, $5.99 and ready to mix.
