Montelobos Tequila
Oaxaca mezcal, roasted agave, poured with respect in Commack.
The story behind Montelobos
Montelobos is mezcal, not tequila, and that distinction matters. It comes from Oaxaca, where agave hearts are roasted, fermented and distilled the old way, and the smoke in the glass is the point, not a flaw. The house leans on Agave angustifolia, espadín, and builds an Ensamble from more than one agave for a wider, wilder profile.
We have poured and sold this label for years behind the counter at 1171 Jericho Turnpike. The Espadín is the everyday bottle, the Ensamble is the step up, and the Pechuga is the special occasion pour. Same family of methods, three different conversations.

Three expressions, one Oaxacan house. Start with espadín, move to the blend, save the Pechuga for the nights that deserve it.
