Honeyrun Organic
Sulfite-free honey wine from a Chico meadery, since 1992.
The story behind Honeyrun
Honeyrun started in 1992 in Butte Creek Canyon, in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Chico, California. John and Amy Hasle founded it; Amy took over as head winemaker in 1994, and the operation moved to Park Avenue in southern Chico in 1995. Everything here ferments from honey, not grapes or agave, and the meadery runs certified Kosher (OU).
No added sulfites, no preservatives. That takes sanitation discipline most commercial producers skip, and it is why the fruit expressions stay so clean. We have poured these for years and watched the melomels, the fruit and honey wines, soften into port-like depth after three or four years in the bottle. Drink them young and cold for the fruit; cellar them if you want the quieter version.

Five bottlings, all 750mL, all built on honey. A bone-dry traditional mead sits beside four fruit melomels, each fermented with real whole fruit rather than flavoring.
