Heavyweight Pinot Noir
A full bodied California Pinot Noir from Scotto Cellars.
The story behind Heavyweight
Pinot Noir is one of the oldest cultivated grapes on earth, farmed in Burgundy since the Roman era and tended by medieval monks for subtlety. Heavyweight Pinot Noir takes that grape somewhere else. Scotto Cellars, a multi generational California family, sources fruit from sun drenched vineyards where heat ripens the berries and raises sugar levels.
Extended skin contact during fermentation pulls deeper color and firmer tannins than the pale, delicate style most drinkers expect. Toasted oak barrels add vanilla, spice and toasted brioche. The result is a Pinot Noir with a darker color, a fuller body and a louder voice, which is exactly where the name comes from.

Heavyweight cocktails and pairings
Serve this one at 55 to 60 degrees, twenty minutes out of the fridge, in a wide Burgundy bowl. The body handles richer plates than most Pinot Noir.
