The story behind Gordon's
Alexander Gordon, a Londoner of Scottish descent, opened his distillery in Southwark, London in 1769. The gin he built there became a London dry standard, and the recipe has not wandered far since. Since 1998 the bulk of production for Western Europe and major export markets has come out of the Cameronbridge Distillery in Fife, Scotland, still under the Gordon's name.
We have poured Gordon's across this counter for more than thirty years, and it has never needed a sales pitch. It is a juniper forward London dry, clean and bracing, the kind of bottle that earns its place on the back bar because it works in everything. You will find it here from a 50mL nip up to the 1.75L handle.
