The story

The story behind Ecco Domani

Ecco Domani means "Here's Tomorrow," and the label has been on American tables since 1996, when E. & J. Gallo launched it as their first imported wine made outside the United States. Chief winemaker Fabrizio Gatto has steered it from the start. The grapes come from the high altitude vineyards of the delle Venezie DOC in northeastern Italy, and the wine is bottled in Mezzocorona.

The blend runs about 97% Pinot Grigio with a splash of Chardonnay. Roughly 10% of the fruit hangs a month longer and dries on straw mats, the passito method, before fermentation. Three weeks in upright stainless steel tanks, light lees, no oak. That is why the pear and citrus stay bright instead of turning heavy.

Buying guidance

Which Ecco Domani is right for you?

The flagship Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio 750mL is $12.99, which lands it squarely in the value tier most Italian Pinot Grigio occupies. The three pack of 187mL bottles runs $9.99 and makes sense if you want one glass without opening a full bottle. The reds and the Prosecco sit lower, $8.99 to $10.99, and they sell through fast, so availability moves. Call the store at (631) 343-7200 before you drive over, or order online and we will confirm what is on the shelf.

Make the most of it

Ecco Domani cocktails and pairings

Serve it well chilled, 45 to 50 degrees, in a standard white wine glass. The acidity wants seafood, green salads, and anything with olive oil and garlic.
Good to know

Ecco Domani questions, answered

What does Ecco Domani mean?
Ecco Domani translates from Italian to "Here's Tomorrow." The name has been on the label since the brand launched in 1996, and it is the phrase most people ask about first when they pick up the bottle.
Who owns and distributes Ecco Domani?
E. & J. Gallo Winery owns, imports, and markets Ecco Domani, and the company is based in Modesto, California. The wine itself is made from delle Venezie DOC grapes in northeastern Italy and bottled in Mezzocorona.
Is Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio sweet or dry?
It is a dry white wine. Ripe tropical aromas of pineapple and mango come through on the nose, but the palate has crisp acidity and very low residual sugar, so it finishes clean rather than sweet.
What is the alcohol content of Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio?
Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio has an alcohol by volume of 12.5%. That is typical for the delle Venezie DOC, and it keeps the wine light enough to drink with a full meal.
Can I get Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio delivered or pick it up?
Yes. We offer same-day or next-day delivery across Nassau and Suffolk, free local delivery over $250, and free curbside pickup at our Commack store. Wine ships to the states where it is legal, confirmed at checkout.
