Dewar's Scotch-blend
Perth blended Scotch, double aged, poured in Commack since the start.
The story behind Dewar's
John Dewar opened a spirit merchant shop in Perth, Scotland in 1846. His sons, John Alexander and Tommy, took the blend global, and Tommy is the one who pushed the Scotch Highball into New York bars in 1892. Dewar's still builds its blend around Aberfeldy single malt from the Highlands, marrying 30 to 40 malt and grain whiskies, then resting the blend in oak for another 3 to 6 months before bottling.
That second rest is the double aging the house is known for, and it is why the whisky lands soft rather than sharp. Bacardi has owned Dewar's since 1998. Master Blender Stephanie Macleod has taken the range further with the four stage Double Double series. We have poured these bottles across this counter for three decades.

Pricing here is honest and it starts small. The White Label 50mL is $2.39, the 375mL is $15.99, and the full 750mL is $25.99, which is the bottle most people walk out with. Step up to the 12 Year Special Reserve 750mL at $36.99 and you get a rounder dram for about eleven dollars more. The 15 Year 50mL is $3.99 and the 18 Year 50mL is $5.99 when we have them, a cheap way to taste the top of the range before committing.
Light grain and honey hold up to soda without disappearing.
Extra age smooths the edges, neat or over one cube.
A five dollar taste of the top tier, easy to wrap.
