Clan Denny Scotch-single
Independent Scotch bottlings, poured straight from a Commack counter.
The story behind Clan Denny
Clan Denny is an independent bottling line from Douglas Laing & Co., the Glasgow firm Fred Douglas Laing founded in 1948. The label itself arrived in the mid-2000s under the Hunter Hamilton subsidiary, and it now runs alongside sister releases from Douglas McGibbon & Co. What that means for you is simple: no single distillery, no house style. Clan Denny pulls casks from Islay, Speyside, the Highlands and the Lowlands and bottles them as regional single malts and single grains.
We have carried these bottles for years, and the appeal has not changed. Each expression is a window into one distillery, often at a strength and age the distillery's own label never offers. The 10 year old Bunnahabhain is the one that leaves our shelf most often.

Which Clan Denny is right for you?
Every Clan Denny bottle on our list sits at $59.99, which is a fair place to start with independent bottlings. The 10 year old Bunnahabhain is in stock now at that price, and it is the bottle we hand people first. The Craigellachie, Fettercairn and 14 year old Port Dundas are listed at the same $59.99 and sell through quickly, so call the Commack store at (631) 343-7200 before you make the trip for a specific cask.
Light peat and brine without the smoke bomb, easy to pour nightly.
Wants a distillery character rarely bottled solo, meaty and firm.
Curious about single grain, soft vanilla and coconut, no peat.
