The story

The story behind Bribon

Bribon is a Jalisco tequila made under NOM 1437, and it arrived through a partnership between the Taub family and the Orendain family of Casa Don Roberto, whose distilling line runs back to 1840. The brand launched in 2016 and reached the US in 2017. Agave is hand-harvested at seven to ten years, cooked 18 hours in high-pressure autoclaves at 100C, milled on a roller mill, then fermented open-air in stainless with deep well water and a house yeast.

Double distillation splits the work between pot stills with copper coils and column stills, which is why Bribon reads clean and bright without losing the cooked agave. Every core expression is bottled at 80 proof.

Buying guidance

Which Bribon is right for you?

Bribon sits in the value tier where a 100% agave tequila has no business being this drinkable. Our Bribon Blanco Tequila 750mL is $19.99 and the Bribon Reposado Tequila 750mL is $25.99, both 80 proof and both under thirty dollars. The 50mL Blanco runs $2.49 when it is in stock, which makes a cheap way to try before you commit to a full bottle. Stock on the Blanco moves fast, so call the store at (631) 343-7200 before you drive over.

Bribon cocktails and pairings

Blanco wants grilled fish tacos or ceviche, where the pepper and citrus meet acid. Reposado and Anejo go to roasted pork carnitas and grilled meat.
Good to know

Bribon questions, answered

Who makes Bribon Tequila?
Bribon is produced in Jalisco, Mexico under NOM 1437 by Casa Don Roberto, the Orendain family distillery with roots back to 1840. The brand launched in 2016 through a partnership with the Taub family and reached the US in 2017.
Is Bribon Tequila 100% agave?
Yes. Bribon is made from 100% blue Weber agave, hand-harvested at seven to ten years of age. There are no added sugars or grain neutral spirits in the core expressions.
What is the difference between Bribon Blanco and Reposado?
Blanco is unaged and shows bright citrus and green pepper. Reposado rests in oak, which adds vanilla and softens the agave heat. Both are bottled at 80 proof, so the difference is time in barrel, not strength.
How should I serve Bribon Tequila?
Serve Blanco and Reposado in a Margarita, paloma, or on the rocks with lime. Anejo is better neat or over one large ice cube. Blanco also pairs well with grilled fish tacos or ceviche.
