The story behind Banhez
Mezcal is a spirit distilled from roasted agave, and the smoke you taste comes from how the hearts are cooked before fermentation. This is a small production style, earthy and savory rather than sweet, with a warm finish that lingers. It drinks slower than a silver tequila and rewards a little patience in the glass.
We keep Banhez in the shop in Commack in two sizes, a 750mL and a 1L. We stock just a bottle or two at a time, so call ahead at (631) 343-7200 and we will hold one at the counter for you.
