The story

The story behind Allens

Allens comes out of Somerville, Massachusetts, made by M.S. Walker, the spirits house Maurice Walker founded in 1933. The brand line itself arrived in the late 1960s and carries the name of Leo Allen, Maurice's son-in-law, who joined the family business just after Prohibition ended. That is a long family run in a business that rarely keeps one.

These are mixers, not sipping spirits, and the label does not pretend otherwise. A spirit base, sometimes grape or citrus brandy, sometimes neutral spirit, gets heavy sugar syrup and all-natural flavor extracts sourced from around the globe. The coffee expression works from real imported beans through dual percolation and distillation. No barrel time, no blending program, just loud, sweet, dependable flavor built for the shaker and the highball.
