Nose
Blackberry and cassis lead, then cedar and sweet spice, with a quiet leather and tobacco edge from the oak.
Palate
Full and concentrated, dark plum and blackberry over firm, polished tannins. Sweet spice and cedar weave through, leather and tobacco adding depth. Give it air and it turns smooth and elegant.
Finish
Long and warm, echoing dark fruit and spice, with a lingering tobacco note.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve at cool room temperature, around 60 to 65 degrees, in a wide Bordeaux glass. Decant for an hour or more to soften the tannins and open the fruit. If you pour straight from the bottle, give it a vigorous swirl and a few minutes in the glass. A roast or grilled red meat makes the structure sing.
