Nose
Ripe yellow apple and pear drop out first, then a squeeze of lemon peel, with vanilla and a light toasted oak note riding behind the fruit.
Palate
Full and creamy in the mouth, soft around the edges. Baked apple and pear fill the middle, citrus lifts it, vanilla and gentle oak wrap the fruit. Acid is modest, so it stays round rather than sharp.
Finish
Smooth and lingering, with vanilla and a warm baked apple note that hangs on longer than you expect for the price.
How to serve and what to pour it with
Serve it chilled but not ice cold, around 50 to 55 degrees, so the oak and vanilla do not get buried. A standard white wine glass with a decent bowl lets the aromas open. No ice. If it has been in the fridge, give it ten minutes on the counter before pouring.
