Yuki Nigori Sake
Berkeley brewed nigori sake, poured cloudy and cold since 1982.
The story behind Yuki Nigori
Yuki Nigori comes from Takara Sake USA, which opened in Berkeley, California in 1982 and brews with California grown Calrose rice. The style is nigori: the sake passes through a coarse mesh filter that leaves unfermented rice solids in the bottle, so it pours milky and opaque instead of clear. No aging here. Natural fruit flavors go straight into the creamy, semi sweet base.
The result is certified Kosher, gluten free and sulfite free, and every flavored expression lands at 10.0% ABV in a 375mL bottle. We have poured this Yuki line for years to customers who want sake without a lecture. Shake it first. The rice settles, and the cloud is the point.
