Tomero Cabernet
Argentine Cabernet and Torrontes, stocked small in Commack.
The story behind Tomero
Tomero pours from Argentina, and the Cabernet Sauvignon here is the kind of red Mendoza does plainly well: dark fruit, a little herbal edge, firm but friendly tannin. It drinks like a weeknight bottle, not a special occasion one, and that is the point.
We keep Tomero in Commack in small numbers, one or two bottles at a time, so what you see is what we have. The Torrontes alongside it is Argentina's own white grape, floral and bright, and a good counterweight on the same shelf.

Which Tomero is right for you?
Both Tomero bottles are $9.98 for a 750mL, which puts them in everyday territory rather than special occasion territory. That is honest pricing for a Mendoza red and an Argentine white, and it is why we only carry a bottle or two at a time. Ask us what is on the shelf before you drive over.

Tomero cocktails and pairings
Serve the Cabernet slightly cool with grilled or roasted red meat, and the Torrontes well chilled.
