The Pedaler Merlot
Big bottle Merlot, honest everyday red for the table
The story behind The Pedaler
Merlot is the great softening grape of the red wine world, the variety that rounds off Cabernet blends in Bordeaux and stands alone as a plush, plummy, easy drinking red. The Pedaler Merlot comes in a 1.5L bottle, the size the trade calls a magnum, which is double a standard bottle and built for a table with more than two chairs at it.
We have sold this label for years to customers who want a red they do not have to think about. Origin and production details for The Pedaler are not something we can confirm, so we will not pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is what the bottle does: soft tannin, ripe dark fruit, a clean finish, and enough structure to stand up to a burger or a plate of pasta.

Which The Pedaler is right for you?
The Pedaler Merlot 1.5L runs $9.99, and the Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5L is $8.99. Do the arithmetic and you are paying standard bottle money for twice the wine, which is the whole point of the magnum format. This is not a wine to cellar or to ponder. It is a wine to open when the grill is going and the driveway is full of cars.
