Tequila Rose Creams
Real cream, real tequila, and a rose that turns pink when cold.
The story behind Tequila Rose
Tequila Rose came out of Weston, Missouri in 1995, the work of McCormick Distilling Company. The idea was simple and a little strange: real dairy cream, natural strawberry flavor, sugar, and a splash of Mexican Blanco tequila from Blue Weber agave, homogenized so the milk fat bonds with the alcohol and does not separate. The cream itself is unaged. The bottle is black glass to keep light off the dairy, and the silver roses on the label turn pink once the bottle drops below 50 degrees.
We have poured Tequila Rose for a long time, and it has never needed a trend to sell. It is a strawberry cream liqueur at 15 percent alcohol, 30 proof, and it does one thing better than almost anything else on the shelf: it comes out of the freezer ready to go.
