The story behind Tavernello
Tavernello launched in 1983, the house brand of Caviro, a farming cooperative founded in 1966 across Faenza and Forlì in Emilia-Romagna. Caviro built its name on affordable daily wine for Italian families, and the cooperative now draws fruit from more than 34,000 hectares of vineyards in Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Friuli. Roughly 50 enologists blend across regions to hold a consistent taste year to year.
The sparkling side is made by the Charmat method, fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and held up to 6 months before pressure bottling, which keeps the fruit clean and fresh. Glera drives the Prosecco; Trebbiano and Pecorino show up elsewhere. We have poured Tavernello for years because it delivers honest Italian bubbles at a price that lets you open a second bottle.
