The story behind Tamarack
Chardonnay is the white grape behind the great whites of Burgundy and the most widely planted white in the world. In the glass it runs from lean and chalky to round and buttery, depending on climate and how the winemaker treats it in barrel and on the lees. Cooler sites give green apple and citrus; warmer ones bring stone fruit and a softer texture.
We carry Tamarack Chardonnay 750mL here in Commack, and it is a small one for us. We keep a bottle or two on the shelf rather than a case, so call ahead if you want to be sure it is in.
