The story behind Taken
Red blends are wines built from more than one grape, and California makes some of the fullest, most food friendly versions. Blending lets a winemaker lean on Cabernet for structure, Merlot for softness, or Syrah and Zinfandel for ripe dark fruit, so the finished wine drinks round and generous rather than sharp.
We keep Taken Red Blend on our Commack shelves in small quantity, one or two bottles at a time. It is a straightforward, crowd pleasing red for the table, and when it is gone we simply restock what we can.
