Sunny With A Chance Of Flowers debuted in 2020 from Scheid Family Wines, an estate farming California's Central Coast since 1972. Heidi Scheid and winemaker Casey DiCesare built it around a simple idea: real wine, less alcohol, no sugar. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are estate grown and sustainably farmed in Monterey County, where cool coastal breezes keep the fruit crisp and aromatic.
The juice ferments completely dry, so no residual sugar is left behind. A portion of the alcohol is then pulled out through a gentle, non chemical filtration process, landing the wine at 9% ABV and roughly 85 calories per five ounce glass. The whole operation is certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, and the facility runs on an on site wind turbine. Every capsule carries a small optimistic message.
