Stroppiana Barolo
Piedmont Nebbiolo from La Morra, poured in Commack since the start.
The story behind Stroppiana
Cantina Stroppiana was established in 1962, when Dario Stroppiana's father and maternal grandfather, Giuseppe "Pin" and Oreste, bought vineyard parcels in La Morra and Bussia. For years the family sold most of the harvest to other producers and kept a small share for its own table. The estate sits in Rivalta, a hamlet of La Morra, in the heart of the Barolo DOCG zone.
Today the fourth generation runs it: siblings Leonardo and Altea Stroppiana, with parents Dario and Stefania. All Barolo here is 100% Nebbiolo, farmed by hand without herbicides or chemical insecticides. The house balances the fragrant, silkier clay-silt of La Morra against the structural power of the Bussia cru in Monforte d'Alba, aging flagship labels 24 months in French oak followed by 12 months in bottle.
