The story behind Robert Mondavi Napa
Robert Mondavi founded his Oakville winery in 1966, in the heart of Napa Valley, and spent the following decades arguing that California could label wine by grape and stand beside Europe. He won that argument. The Fume Blanc name is his, a house term for Sauvignon Blanc given some oak contact, and it has been on our shelves long enough that customers still ask for it by that name alone.
