Porto Cruz Port
Porto Cruz Ruby and Tawny, stocked in Commack, poured warm and sweet.
The story behind Porto Cruz
Port is a fortified wine from Portugal's Douro Valley, made by adding grape spirit to stop fermentation while sweetness remains. Ruby Port is young and fruit forward, deep red and plummy, while Tawny Port ages in wood and turns amber, with dried fruit and nut notes. Both are sweet, warming and built to sip slowly.
We keep Porto Cruz Ruby and Tawny in the shop in Commack, one or two bottles at a time, for anyone who wants a real Port without a big commitment. Ask us at the counter and we will point you to them.
