The story behind Orendain
Tequila is a protected agave spirit from Mexico, made mostly from blue Weber agave in Jalisco. Blanco is unaged or lightly rested, so it tastes bright and peppery with clear cooked agave. Reposado rests in oak for a couple of months to a year, which softens the edges and adds a light vanilla and caramel note.
We keep Orendain in both styles on our Commack shelves, one to two bottles at a time. It is a straightforward, affordable pour for margaritas and casual sipping, not a collector bottle.
