The story behind Midnight Moon
Midnight Moon comes out of Madison, North Carolina, where Piedmont Distillers founder Joe Michalek partnered with NASCAR legend Robert Glen "Junior" Johnson in May 2007 to make the Johnson family's Appalachian recipe legally. The mash bill is 100% American corn cut with mountain spring water run through five filtration steps, then triple-distilled in small copper pot stills. That is why it drinks clean instead of harsh.
True moonshine means no barrel. The core spirit is unaged corn whiskey with zero oak influence, and the fruit jars are hand-packed with whole fruit, no artificial colors, preservatives or sweeteners. We have poured these for Long Island customers for years, and the jar still does the talking.
