Middle Sister Cabernet
California Cabernet with a wink, poured in Commack since day one.
The story behind Middle Sister
Middle Sister was founded by Terry Wheatley in 2008, first under Canopy Management and later under Vintage Wine Estates. The grapes are California Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced broadly across the state, and the wine is made by winemaker Nancy Walker. Each bottle carries a stick figure persona and a line of what the brand calls Drops of Wisdom. The Cabernet is the Mischief Maker.
We have poured this line for years because it does one thing honestly: fruit forward, low tannin, ready the moment you open it. No cellar required. The portfolio has collected 22 Gold Medals across national competitions, including San Francisco Chronicle, San Diego International and Los Angeles International.

Which Middle Sister is right for you?
Every Middle Sister bottle on our shelf is $9.99. That is the whole price list, Cabernet through Pinot Grigio, no tiers to sort through. At that number you can keep a bottle of the Cabernet open for a Tuesday burger and not think twice about it. We have sold this line for years at exactly this kind of money, and it earns its place because it drinks like a wine twice the price on a weeknight. Buy Middle Sister Cabernet online and we will have it ready at the counter.
Low tannin and fruit forward, so it works with a burger straight off the grill.
A Zinfandel, Cabernet and Merlot blend that pleases a full table without a lecture.
Crisp and cold, made for a warm Commack afternoon on the deck.
Middle Sister cocktails and pairings
Serve the Cabernet at 60 to 65 degrees, slightly cool, not cellar cold. It wants robust, casual food.
