Merf Cabernet
Everyday Washington Cabernet, stocked in small lots in Commack.
The story behind Merf
Cabernet Sauvignon is the sturdy red grape behind some of the most recognizable wines anywhere, and Washington State has become one of its strongest American homes. Columbia Valley fruit tends to give ripe dark cherry and blackberry, a touch of dried herb, and enough tannin to stand up to grilled and roasted food without feeling heavy.
We keep Merf in small lots at our Commack shop, one to two bottles at a time, so call ahead before you drive over. It is a plain, fairly priced bottle for a Tuesday dinner, not a cellar piece.
