Louis Jadot Chardonnay
Burgundy Chardonnay from Beaune, poured here for thirty years.
The story behind Louis Jadot
Maison Louis Jadot was founded in Beaune in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, and the house has been shaping Burgundy ever since. Since 1985 it has belonged to the Kopf family, the American importers behind Kobrand. That continuity matters in a region where vineyard holdings change hands constantly.
The signature practice is the répli: fruit from higher appellations is blended into lower tiered cuvées, lifting village level Chardonnay well above its station. Aging runs 8 to 12 months, in stainless steel for the unoaked wines and in French oak from the house's own Cadus cooperage for the rest. We have poured these bottles across this counter for three decades.
