Loch Lomond Scotch-single
Highland boundary malt, poured in Commack since the last century.
The story behind Loch Lomond
Loch Lomond distillery sits in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, right on the line where the Highland region begins. Duncan Thomas and Barton Brands founded the modern site in 1964, and spirit ran off the stills in 1965. Thomas brought straight-neck pot stills with internal rectifying copper plates, which let the distillery pull light, fruity spirit near 85% ABV or heavy, oily spirit near 65% from the same mash.
It is one of the few Scottish sites making single malt and single grain under one roof, with its own cooperage handling thousands of cask repairs a year. American oak leads the maturation, first-fill bourbon and refill and re-charred. We have sold Loch Lomond through every price swing since, and the 12 Year remains the bottle we hand people first.
