The story

The story behind Imperiale

Imperiale Pinot Grigio comes from northeast Italy, the Veneto and the wider delle Venezie appellation, where Pinot Grigio has been grown for generations. The grape itself is a grayish blue mutation of Pinot Noir, and the winery presses gently and separates the juice from the skins right away so no color bleeds into the wine. Everything ferments and rests in temperature controlled stainless steel, never oak, which keeps the fruit bright.

The label is a modern commercial export brand rather than an old family estate, built to put affordable Italian white wine on American tables. That is exactly what it does. We have poured and sold value Italian whites on this floor for over thirty years, and Imperiale earns its place as an everyday bottle, not a special occasion one.
