Grande Absente Cordials
Anise forward absinthe style cordial, stocked small in Commack.
The story behind Grande Absente
Absinthe style cordials are built around anise, fennel and wormwood, and they pour clear until cold water is added, when the drink turns cloudy and milky. That change is called the louche, and it is the whole ritual. Expect a strong black licorice and herb character, high proof, and a slow, deliberate serve.
We keep Grande Absente Absente Originale in the shop in two sizes, a 100mL and a 750mL. It is a small placement on our cordials shelf, so what you see is what we have. Ask us at the counter in Commack and we will walk you through the serve.
