The story

The story behind Georges Duboeuf

Georges Duboeuf built a negociant house in Beaujolais, the granite hills south of Burgundy, and made his name moving Gamay from grower to glass. He is the merchant most credited with turning Beaujolais Nouveau, the fresh wine released each November, into a global event. The man died in 2020; the label carries on.

We have poured these wines at the counter for decades. The style is honest: bright red fruit, low tannin, a chill-friendly body that suits a Tuesday dinner as well as a holiday table. If you want a red you can open without ceremony, this is the shelf to start on.
