The story behind Gabriella
Gabriella Merlot comes from Cantina Gabriele in Italy's Lazio region, south of Rome. The family line reaches back to the mid-19th century, when Andrea I Pandolfo made wine on Pantelleria; later generations moved cultivation to Tunisia and back to Italy before the modern estate took shape near Terracina. Today Gabriele Pandolfo carries the work forward.
The Merlot is 100 percent varietal, farmed organically and made kosher, kosher for Passover and Mevushal under Orthodox Union supervision, with flash pasteurization done at the winery. That is why a bottle opened at a mixed table keeps its certification. Ruby red with violet edges, blackberry and cherry, a little minerality, 12.5% ABV.
